Two Lucky Winners

Congratulations to two lucky winners of scholarships to attend the Teleflora Scholarship Academy. Each year Teleflora provides funds to the NC Unit to offer a scholarship to attend the Scholarship Academy. Through auctions at each Unit program, the Unit raises money to provide additional scholarships. Applications are available at each program and remain in effect for two years.

The lucky winners for 2018 are Samantha Brady and Charita Walker. Congratulations to each of these deserving ladies!!  Both are eligible to attend any of the classes available which are outlined below.

Information regarding upcoming NC Unit programs will be announced soon. Attend the programs, get great education and fill out an application. You never know if you could be a scholarship winner!

Make Someone Smile Week

Thanks again to our awesome team for this year’s Make Someone Smile Week in Thomasville: From left to right above: Bill McPhail of “Always Flowers by Crenshaw”, John Herron of “Herron House Flowers”, Scott Jackson of “Botanica Flowers and Gifts”, and Derrick Justin Rice of “Elizabethtown Florist”.

Teleflora’s Make Someone Smile Week is a charitable program which began in 2000. It is the floral industry’s most popular and successful volunteer initiative in North America. Each July, Teleflora Units plan projects to provide smiles through flowers. Teleflora provides the “Be Happy” mugs and florists donate their time to produce the designs and deliver to those who need a smile. One of the NC Unit’s three projects took place July 16-17 in Thomasville, NC. Bill McPhail, NC Unit President, worked with John Herron, Scott Jackson and Derrick Rice to produce 144 “Be Happy” mugs that were delivered, primarily, to Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Thomasville. It is a wonderful experience that brings smiles to many people who may never receive gifts of flowers.

Two more projects were scheduled for Saturday, July 22nd.

This ultimate selfishness is the backbone of our association and we applaud these kind and caring individuals for their sacrifice. Bravo!  We grabbed a few pics, see below.
