Again, we’ll begin with the results from all the convention competitions in an image format that can be downloaded for printing. Just click anywhere on the below image to download a pdf for printing. Then we have a few words from our past President Danny Hinton, and we’ll end with a whole bunch of pics that were taken at the convention. Please click on the share links in the middle of the page and post to all your social pages.
Convention 2019 – Rhythmic Fusion, The Exploration of Flowers thru Music was held at the Embassy Suites in Cary, NC this year. Our turnout was average, but the enthusiasm was tremendous as expected. The food was incredible with bountiful snack stations scattered throughout the entire weekend. Our annual convention design competitions produced incredible designs proving once again the unlimited talent of our state-wide floral designers. The adherent belief of techniques learned and practiced proved once again that NCSFA floral education allows oneself to rise above the average designs from mediocre florists strewn across our state. It creates an innate voice that automatically tells your brain where something goes and how to put it there. It allows a designers talent to reach a new level and gives the designer the needed confidence to excel in their profession. Everyone that knows Derek Wood can attest to that premise. Derek’s like a young flower bud that was allowed to blossom to it’s fullest potential.
We were able to take some still shots during the convention and have included them throughout the page. We’re currently combing Facebook for other additions and will be adding those after proper optimization edits for size, sharpness, and color ranges. I want to thank my convention co-chairs, Stephanie Garrett and Jodi McLeod, my Soul Train Gang for all their work and a big thanks to all the NCSFA Board members for their help and guidance. Another big thanks goes out to all our valued wholesalers who without them we couldn’t have these conventions. Lihmil Wholesale, Cleveland Plant & Flower, Cyn-Mar Wholesale, Hardins Wholesale, Mayesh, Curtis Flower Farm, and many others. Also, thank you to all the members who attended and took a ride on the Love Train, congratulations to our new President, Nelson Simpson, and we hope to see all of you next year for our 100th Centennial Anniversary Convention. It’s shaping up already. In closing, never forget why we are members and why we continue to succeed because of our passion for the industry.
Past President and Chairman of the Board,
Danny Hinton
